The Best Marriage Proposal! || Plane, Field, Piano, Coldplay (Micah’s Version)

Micah lands in a plane in a grass field, walks Rachel over to a piano sitting out in the field, plays and sings a personal version of the Scientist by Coldplay (the soundtrack of the video), and then proposed to Rachel. Micah is a pilot in Tampa, Florida, and Rachel had never flown with him before. Once at the hangar, where the small plane was waiting that Micah had rented, he removed her blindfold. They boarded the plane and he flew her over some of their favorite places (beaches, park, etc.). After that they flew over a familiar pasture, and he “jokingly” said, “Let’s try landing on that.” Rachel thought he was nuts. He flew over the field once, signaling the photographer and videographer to take their positions. The second time around he landed on an “airstrip” that he recently mowed. He taxied near the tree line, and they got out and began walking around. Not far into the walk, Rachel spotted an upright piano that Micah had placed in the middle of the pasture. He led her over to it, sat her down, and began playing her favorite song, The Scientist, by Coldplay. This song had been revised with words written specifically for Rachel. After playing and singing to her, Micah got on his knee, said some special words, and asked her to marry him. SHE SAID YES!!!

. I always thought he was handsome but I never thought we would ever date. Life went on and in July 2009 I got baptized and promised to be celibate until I got married. I was single about 2 and half years waiting to “meet” someone who would respect my decision. Earlier this year about 9 years after we initially met we were reacquainted and I invited him to church not thinking much about it. I was not going to mention my personal decision to wait because I figured it was not important, after all this was my friend’s older brother. As we talked that evening he had mentioned how shortly before we met he had made a personal decision to remain celibate until marriage, it was then I told him about how I had made the same decision to wait. Since that day we have seen each other every day. We want to keep God the center of our relationship and be pure until we get married. This wedding giveaway would mean so much to us because we want to inspire young kids and young adults our age that there are still people willing to wait for you, whether it is not having sex until marriage or encouraging you to pursue the secret desires of your heart / dreams; a selfless kind of love. I believe at the end of the day it comes down to developing a relationship based on friendship first and respect for one another. Thank you so much for allowing us to share our story!
