Food and wine play an important role in a wedding, and oftentimes can be the biggest part of the budget. To stretch wedding dollars, brides and grooms are looking beyond the traditional for elements that can work overtime. A budget-friendly idea is to choose a red and white wine that can be served with appetizers, the main course and dessert. Wine with dessert? Absolutely! Riesling pairs beautifully with traditional wedding cake. Or, if you have a more unique dessert in mind say, chocolate truffles or a torte, serve it with a Cabernet. Your guests can toast with the wine theyre already enjoying! Dont forget to embellish the cake or dessert with real blooms or sugar flowers, or even edible gold leaf.
