since you are in school make flyers or post an ad for a photographer / dj who knows what will turn up cheap.

My cousin did the same thing…her wedding was planned in one month and it was beautiful. There were probably close to 50 people so a bit larger than yours but still small. One thing they did was when they were feeding the cake to each other they secretly decided to smash the cake in the maid of honor and best mans face! That is just one thing….with is being small you have to do something to make it uniquly yours…maybe a slide show or simple favors? Good luck and congrats!

It sounds like the part that makes it fabulous is that 1, its small so only your closest friends and family will be there, that itself is amazing, you aren’t after a bunch of lavish gifts, you can tell sometimes the larger the guest list the more gifts they want, especially when its joe schmoe who they hardly know invited to the wedding. I’m a cryer at weddings, because it is such a special moment, regardless if its a huge wedding with hundreds of guests or a courthouse justice of the peace wedding, because love is being declared, sorry…….i’m rambling. Food is usually an expensive item for a wedding, since it is only twenty you could do a potluck in lieu of a gift or put the money you do plan on spending into the food, The meal as a guest is one of the things that make it fabulous for me, if I have an outstanding meal and great company that is what I call a great night. Just make sure you spend some time with everyone that will make it great. And you already sound thrifty by getting a used dress, that is a very good idea since these dresses are usually only worn once. Stay simple but elegant, and you can usually google some good craft sites for making your flowers. Simple is very elegant

i can set you up with a great lady who is making my invites. she does package deals and a la carte – you will save tons with her.
rings- shop jc pennys when they have sales, look for coupons
or ebay and craigslist. really don’t be afraid of ebay. shop sellers with 99 or 100% feedback only
transportation- use a relatives nice auto or use your own. you don’t nee a limo
dress- shop consignment shops. my dress cost $150 and is awesome.
bm dresses- these have dresses under $100 ?…
guys clothing- they can wear white shirts and tan slacks. all bought at the same time so they match.
flowers- you can shop local flower stores or grocery store floral dpts (make your own if you like) bring pics of what you want to guide your florist. or silks from afloral.com look great. that’s who i went thru for mine
centerpieces- i like the tall vases with topiary style arrangements on them. i love gerberas so i think using them is a great way to punch up color and keep your budget down
food- shop around for a site that does in house catering or a caterer that has a great rep and great menu
sticking with pasta and chicken is a good way to keep bellies and purses full
location- i’m all for outdoor weddings. i think being surrounded by nature is just beautiful and makes for awesome pictures. plus most are free or really cheap.
cake- shop bakeries but also shop grocery stores. most do wedding cakes and are rather tasty cakes. you might not get all the flavor choices of a bakery but most ppl go with white or chocholate anyway.
you really don’t need them but if you do – favors- you can do organza bags filled with candies. shop ebay for the best prices, seller ideabus, has the best prices and selection
photographer- look on craigslist for your area, under services, type in photography and see the results. i found a great gal for mine $300 for 6 hrs. some places charge wayyyy more but you should be able to find a good one for under 1k
you might be able to do the same for dj services. or just call around for a good rate from someone with referrals
oh join your local yahoo group freecycle and post what you are looking for. i got lots of wedding things for free.
post on craigslist for your area too and search for wedding things too. many ppl have left overs they want to unload after their weddings and sell at below lowest cost!

There are so many great ideas out there I wouldn’t know where to start. Set out a simple buffet of appetizers for the food. Use some of the great looking silk flowers and do your own flowers ahead of time. Put together a display of pictures of both the bride and the groom from the time they were little until now. The guests love it when they can go back to the memories.
The greatest thing about a wedding is not the money spent on it. What makes a great wedding is friends and family getting together and celebrating with the bride and groom.

there are beautiful cheap wedding gowns in second hand or consignment shoppes, you can even search for wedding consignment shoppes and get most everything you need at a very good price. make you own wedding invitations with your bridal party, there are very nice kits out there that you can get great ideas from and it will give your big day a unique personal touch for your guest. opt for someone in your family to do your hair and makeup that you trust. in trust your bridal party to get there own gowns and tuxes but in the color you want. hand out chores for each wedding member to get done on time and that will take allot of the expense and stress off from you and tell them that they would not have to buy you a wedding gift and that there help and presents is gift enough. buy 4 silk roses and baby’s breath and a silk whit ribbon for your bouquet then put it in your wedding to hand a rose to each mother and grandmother. let the wedding party carry Daisey and the groom and his party to small rose lapel. I do wish you all the luck.

You can find cheaper dresses via ebay, craigslist, and consignment shops. You could also check out Target’s wedding section. They have some cute stuff.
Since you’re in school, try finding a photography student wanting to build their portfolio or a recent grad. If you have a facebook, that’s an easy way to find them. I’m also in school & getting married in May. I put a flyer up in our photography building and got a lot of responses.
Also, if you have a Hobby Lobby near you, you can get a LOT of great stuff there & they have 50% off sales all the time during this season. You can find invitation kits, favors, unity candle, flowers, etc. I got half my stuff there.
