    Being Native Indian…..

Give me a small clearing in the woods, room for guests and no sight of buildings, cars or anything. Sure be in a tux and her in a dress, some flowers but nothing like the traditional white rug, flower pedals, organ music, etc. maybe an Indian flute player.

Since a marriage is between 2 and God…..I would rather have it among nature and the very creation of God than in a building that man built.

It’s simple. You and Him. Your favorite place. For your vows, write from your heart. Invite only the people who matter the most in the world to you. Then have a nice reception after the honeymoon, and invite all others. Request no gifts.

my best friend just got married. dropped over 100k on the wedding. in hindsight she regrets it– too many people, too much hassle, too much money. she didnt even havea chance to enjoy herself and is relying n the weddign video for some semblance of a memory of it.
based on this experience and the fact that i dont want to start my married life in debt–my DREAM wedding is me and my fiance somewhere in europe, just the 2 of us, photographers, and someone to marry us. then we will have our honeymoon and wedding at the same time and enjoy every moment of it, not worrying about greeting all our visitors and paying for all their food. then after the wedding, i would send what would have been invitations to all of our loved ones, with a picture or two encolsed from the nuptials.
its a win/win…they wont have to worry about traveling to come to our wedding (our friends and fam. are all far flung) and we wont have to worry about being gracious hosts on OUR special day. :)

    its really quite perfect.

My wedding was perfect. Our closest family and friends were all there to celebrate with us. The wedding was in my home town in the church that I grew up with.
The reception was great too, it was at a local resturant/golf course. Everyone had a great time and it was just awesome.
There was nothing that I would have done differently. My husband & I talked before the day of and decided that we didn’t want to have more than a couple of drinks each (we wanted to remember our wedding and not make ***es of ourselves). And we were the last ones to walk out at the end of the dance.
    It cost around $5,000 total.

My vote is for SIMPLE!! My fiancee and I will be married in June. Our families are sooo scattered across the country. We are going to be married in Colorado. There you can perform your own private ceremony! No officiant, No waiting period. Then we will have a reception in New Jersey for his family, one for my family in Louisiana and a party with friends in San Antonio. The ceremony itself will be very personal and intimate. We will say the vows we want to say to each other and will feel totally connected.

On a beach with the Caribbean sea as a backdrop, in negril, Jamaica. The ceremony was at twilight, with the most breathtaking sunset. Then we honeymoon at the resort that hosted the wedding. We read vows that we wrote to each other. Just family and close friends. Simple, intimate and romantic.

I had my dream wedding just a few weeks. It was about 60 people; my family and his. A church service follwed by a reception. We had alot of fun taking the pictures cause both of us love to laugh and have great senses of humor. The wedding and the reception went very well. We were surrounded by family and close friends and through it all we remained focused on each other.

My dream wedding consists of getting married in Ireland where my ancestors are from, in a beautiful castle by the ocean. The only thing that I would want that would be expensive is the flying out of relatives. I want my family there, but with the feud my guy and huis family are having, we dont want them there. It would be gorgeous and romantic, tying my wedding in with my honeymoon! It would be amazing…..

Since to me, marriage is a personal commitment and not a social event that must be announced to the four winds, a simple personal exchange of vows followed by a quite family gathering is the ideal.

A beautiful elegant church, not just a ordinary church but something that has meaning and something that it has to do with you personally or in a way it touches you. beautiful flowers, nice scenery nice catering food and a Cinderella dress will top it off!!! everything should be calm and relaxing nothing to stress over, just a nice wonderful day with your family to celebrate your wedding. that’s what i want.

My dream wedding would be very expensive. I would want a casual wedding first. Then, later a big fancy expensive wedding. The first one I’d just want my mother and father and his mother and father present. Then, we all go out to eat and celebrate. My second wedding, it will be very fancy. I want all my family and friends their and his too. I want two white doves, and a 100 candles lit, a very tall cake, and cupcakes with ice cream in it. I want my family and his wearing the best. I want the wedding to be held in a big church. It will be held in France or Paris. The decorations will be very gorgeous and creative. My dress will cost a fortune and be very pretty. I will have flower girls putting pink and white fresh rose pedals on the floor. The reception will be decorated beautiful. I will have certain tables reserved for certain people. Their will be champagne and lots and lots of food. I will toss a little boutique that will look something like my huge boutique. My honey moon will be in the Hawaii or Italy. My husband and I will leave in a beautiful carriage (like the one Cinderella rode off in) with horses.

My dream wedding is definitely a small, intimate one (only consisting of families and friends who matter to both my future husband and me) at a beach, specifically La Jolla, CA. Theme color will definitely be some shade of blue. I will only have my few closest friends as my bridesmaids (they choose a dress most suited for them as long as it’s the same theme and color) and best men (blue blouses), a ringbearer and that’s it. I want my guests to simply wear fairly casual clothing related to the theme; so a beach wedding would be hibiscus printed shirts or, for the ladies, a pretty spring/summer dress w/ sandals. Only we, the couple, will wear the most formal attire: his, a black tux, and me, with hair down and a blue hibiscus hair ornanament, a white strapless, slimming knee-length dress with nice sandals and without the veil. And for the reception just something outside on the beach w/ tiki torches and good seafood. Finally my honeymoon is definitely Paris where this is truly the most romantic we can feel.

In short, choose a place you and your fiance will feel most comfortable and romantic getting married (don’t let anyone pressure you to have a church, for instance, this is YOUR wedding), definitely have close family and friends as your top priority guests, go for a honeymoon where you 2 will romantically enjoy both as experience and from each other, and budget and spend wisely, as in don’t go overboard, because, the most important of the wedding is you and your future hubbie committing and loving each other the rest of your life, hopefully ;D.

    Happy planning and best wishes!
