What should I do with all the extra glass bowls?

I’ve bought 20 glass bowls for my wedding reception (we’re going to have floating candles in them as centerpieces) and they’re just simple and cheap from Wal-mart. I don’t know what to do with them afterwards. I can use some for decoration I guess but any other ideas other than throwing them away?

When all else fails, send them to Goodwill. I guarentee they will go to a good use.

give them to guests as gifts, or if you look after them and keep the recipt, you could be really scabby and take them back to the store and get a refund, lol, or you could donate them to charity or to people who need them, or you could sell them off cheap, so you get some money back….
or you could just keep a whole lot of them around the place randomly LOL, its up to you matie!

If you have a good set of mason bits… they make great garden accent lights for a back lawn or front walkway.

Well you could use some (2-4) for baking and salads, others can be used as decoration with sand or little rocks ( and having photos popping out on metallic stems and clips… they can also be used for jewelry storage or change and you could of course give some to your friends. Hope that helps

Put one on each of your beside tables to keep your loose change in… this way, you’ll think of your wedding day often.
As for the others, give them as gifts to the people who are at the wedding that are a part of the special event: bridesmaids, mother-in-law, mother, flowergirl, etc.
When you go to a friend’s house for supper, bring a salad (macaroni, coleslaw, etc.) and leave the bowl as a gift for the hostess.
When you’re invited somewhere, put some fresh flowers or some more floating candles in them with a small romantic poem and offer this as a gift to the hostess instead of a bottle of wine.

Call your local nursing home & see if they want them. They can be filled with potpourri or artificial flowers during arts & crafts.

You can put goldfish or any type of small fish in them around your house.

charity is always a good alternative to things like that!
if you like fish…you could use a couple for fish bowls!

If you haven’t gotten an idea you like, you could go to and see if there is a freecycle Yahoo group near you. I just found out about freecycle. Sounds like a good thing to me. Check them out.

My first idea is to plant some water lilies, that’s what I do with my glass bowl, it looks great when the flowers float around.
My second idea is to put in some sand and plant a cactus.
My third idea is simply to put in some pebbles and plant some fern, it should be very easy to be taken care of.
For more ideas you can go to and
